We've gone to the same church for the past few weeks and we like it a lot. A few of the other students go there as well. Our "Big Brothers" (a couple who attends the language school and helped us with the transition to Costa Rica) attend the church and invited us when we first got here. The church name is "Iglesia Celebracion" - Celebration Church.
Here is a picture of us outside the church:
We take two buses to get there and it's about a 20 minute ride. However, depending on when the buses come by the bus stop, our total time varies. We usually leave around 10 AM and get back home around 2 PM. The service starts at 11 AM and it is less than a 2 hour service. We get home by 2 PM because we talk after the service and we usually have to wait at the bus stops for the bus to come by.
The church service is all done in Spanish, but some of the songs have the English lyrics as well as the Spanish lyrics; and the scripture verses are written in English and Spanish.
Here are a few inside pictures of the church:
We've enjoyed singing the Spanish worship songs - some of them are translated from the worship group Hillsong - which is one of our favorite worship groups. Here are some links to some of the songs we like:
Hillsong "Cornerstone" in Spanish - "Mi Roca"
Hillsong "You Deserve" in Spanish - "Tu Mereces"
Hillsong "From the Inside Out" in Spanish - "Desde Mi Interior"
Recibe Toda La Gloria

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays the church hosts a meal for the homeless and on Saturdays they go to a park to minister to and feed children. We plan to get involved with these ministries at some point.
